There is no medical reason that would exempt someone from getting laser due to menstruation. It is important to note that receiving laser hair removal will not impact your cycle or fertility. Due to hormonal changes, there may be an increase in side effects such as redness, bumps, and irritation, alongside additional discomfort due to the increased sensitivity. While most people state that their skin is more sensitive during menstruation, there are also people who experience this sensitivity prior or after menstruating; there are also those lucky folks who do not experience this sensitivity at all!
Ultimately, this is entirely a personal decision! We are happy to perform laser hair removal treatments if you are menstruating. If you are receiving laser hair removal on your intimate area, we kindly ask that you wear a menstrual cup or a tampon for hygienic reasons. If you cannot, we kindly ask you reschedule your appointment after you are finished menstruating!
